WHAT IS THEATRE IN LIBRARY
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Theatre In Library (TIL) means to transform for an hour a bookshop in a theatre.
Shelves, books, and the typical smell of a bookshop become integral parts of a special stage set, within a novel comes to life through a theatrical performance. During the performance customers are not just spectators but they are also a particular actors.

Theatre In Library is born from an idea of the eccentric writer, photographer, and painter Marzia Pez, immediately supported by the visionary theatre director and actor Marco Reale.

Starting from the observation that a bookshop is not an ordinary shop where people buy and sell goods, but a magical place where millions of stories are preserved waiting to live through the buyer's fantasy, Marzia and Marco noted that the bookseller is like a Cupid of reading, endowed with the magic power to match the right story with the right reader, while the writer is like a wizard who has the power to create characters, novels, stories, so real that it is hard not to believe them. And if actors play the writer's stories, then everything becomes theatre!

Theatre In Library is a non-profit project. It aims to promote narrative and theatre in places freely accessible to everybody. To do this, they dramatize several pages of a novel (preferably by new authors or by authors not translated into Italian), thereby creating a real Theatre Trailer.

Although the project seems easy to realize, actually it needs many people, not only artists, widely diverse in their experiences and the roles they play, who work together gratis for the project's success. It is a great job! Thus TIL gives its opportunities only to professionals who don't think about money, but adopt the project as their own.

The extraordinary thing about Theatre in Library is perhaps just this, to be a project open to everybody who wants to love it, who wants to make it grow and spread and to test their own limits, working with other professionals in a context that is truly new and constantly changing.
